On Monday, November 20, 2023 many members of the Florence Ecumenical Council consisting of the below listed organizations and churches gathered at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish to bag and deliver food items to be given to needy families for their Thanksgiving meal. Individual members also brought family and children to assist.
Three hundred and eleven (311) meals were put together for same day delivery to the needy families. Your Sir Michael Fitzgerald Knights of Columbus Council #5221 alone delivered ninety one (91) meals within the Florence, Coolidge and Casa Grande areas.
The Florence Ecumenical Council received food donations from throughout the community for this worthy cause. The council currently provides holiday meals such as these at Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, Fourth Of July and Labor Day.
