· 1 in 5 people in Arizona are at risk for hunger
· 1 in 4 kids are at risk for hunger

· Arizona ranks 10th nationally for food insecurity
United Food Bank’s Annual Impact
· 61,000 meals per day were distributed
· 1.4 million people visited a United Food Bank Agency for food assistance
· 19.4 million meals provided
· 9.2 million pounds of produce rescued from grocery stores
· 1,762 volunteers donated 26,770 volunteer hours
· 97 cents of every $1 raised goes directly into food assistance
· $1 equals 5 meals
· 257,123 after-school meals and snacks were provided
· 1,074 food drives gathered 1,198,466 pounds of food
· 31,100 weekend/holiday food backpacks distributed
Where We Serve
· Our 19,500 square-mile service area covers five counties in the East Valley and eastern Arizona – eastern Maricopa, Gila, Pinal, southern Navajo and southern Apache
· 220 programs and agencies partner with United Food Bank
Programs and Services
· Emergency and Supplemental Food Assistance Program – food boxes available through our partner agencies
· Mobile Pantries – food assistance to more rural areas
· Meal Sites – soup kitchens, residential facilities and senior programs
· Helping Hands – short-term supply of food provided by first responders to those in need
· Kids Café – after-school meal and snack program
· Backpack Program – food provided to kids during weekends and school vacations
· Help Yourself Co-op – a weekly food purchase program for individuals wanting to stretch their food dollars
